Nine young instrumentalists from throughout the Southeast competed in the event.

The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra's Youth Concerto Competition Concert Finals were held Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Nine young instrumentalists from throughout the Southeast competed in the event.

The winners were : First Prize: Eric Tsai -- violin, $1,000 plus an opportunity as a soloist with the HHSO Second Prize: Dustin Wilkes-Kim -- violin, $500 Third Prize: Madeline Miller -- bassoon, $300
