Hospice Care of the Lowcountry thankful to Hilton Head Firefighers Association

We are so grateful to the Hilton Head Firefighers Association for its service to the community. It is no small feat to create a haunted house and manage a concessions booth at the RBC Heritage golf tournament to name just two of the group's fundraising efforts.

Hospice Care of the Lowcountry was honored to be chosen as a grant recipient for 2012. The money will be used toward patient care for uninsured patients, as well as to bridge the gap between insurance allowances and the actual cost of care.

As a nonprofit group, Hospice Care of the Lowcountry never turns patients away due to lack of insurance. We absorb the cost of medication, medical equipment and supplies.

We've developed such programs as video memoirs, music therapy and the new "pet peace of mind" and "we honor veterans." We feel these programs are a critical part of providing comprehensive care and support for patients and their families as they journey together through the final stage of life.

Donations allow us to continue our mission of providing physical, emotional and spiritual care to our patients and their families.
