What goes around comes around, so here's a shout-out to the hundreds of supporters of our 10th Community Christmas Day Dinner.
It all "comes around" through the invitation of The Beach House. Thanks to its vendors: Jerome Orr, Mike Warnock; turkeys: Harris Teeter-Park Plaza), Walmart, The Beach House, Walmart's Jesus cakes, and Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks vendors.
For 612 diners, Wally Willig kept 112 birds "coming around" on rotisseries at the Smokehouse and One Hot Mama's. His culinary team included Chris Doboszynski, Paul McGovern and Jeff and Carol Greenwood. Desserts came with Second Helpings' drivers and donations from St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Okatie, Betty Nemec, Joe and Mary Danules, Dorothy and Darrell Brown, Ruth and Tom Dolan, Carol Giombetti, Bernie Schroeder and Pat Cummings.
We appreciate: Sonesta, Sea Pines Resort, DY Auction House, Resort Services, Sue Gostanian, JoAnn VanDell, Anne Pierce. Fred the Fantastique Magician and Bill Usher's balloons helped to fill the void by the recent passing of Barbara Ashley Yostie, the puppeteer.
All praise goes to Lois and Wally Willig, co-organizers of the volunteers, reservations, food planning, transporting, cooking, clean up all designed with their personal touch for conveying the true spirit of Christmas.
The "coming around" of supporters initiated the "going around" of that spirit for weeks, along with diners, donations of $2,168 to "Meals on Wheels" and "Second Helpings" grateful recipients.
