It's nearly that time of year again in Beaufort, when prominent men strap on heels and tart up their faces for a little good-natured fun.

Contestants have been announced for the fourth annual Beaufort Beauties pageant, which will put men in drag to raise money for Main Street Beaufort, USA; HELP of Beaufort; Alzheimer's Family Services; and the Child Abuse Prevention Association.

This year's contestants are Jerry Ashmore, Beaufort branch manager for The Greenery Inc.; Port Royal town manager Van Willis; Port Royal Councilman Joe Lee; Michael Keyserling of Classic Cars of Beaufort; and Paul Cole of Cole Design LLC. Also participating are U.S. Navy dentists Jeff Droude and Walter Brafford, and Joel Garrett of 94.5 the Coast FM.

The show will be March 30 at The Shed in Port Royal. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the pageant will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Contestants are raising money for the organizations the pageant benefits.
