WRESTLING
Beaufort High School: The Beaufort High School wrestling team sent eight into the finals of Wednesday's Region 8-AAAA tournament at Ashley Ridge and came away with four champions.
The Eagles' region champs are Codrian Smalls (184 pounds), Clint Wright (197), Kentrell Seabrook (222) and Tyler Wilson (285). Finishing as region runners-up were Trey Arant (160), Michael Holmes (152), Forrest Kimbrell (145) and Jake Sharp (106). In addition to those eight wrestlers, also qualifying for this month's Lower State tournament were Eric Blakeley (170, 4th) and William Spann (113, 4th).
"They wrestled well as a team," Beaufort coach Bill Damude said.
The team will be in action again Saturday, wrestling at Conway in the first two rounds of the Class 4-A dual playoffs. Beaufort takes on Goose Creek in the first round. The winner then faces Conway. The Eagles defeated both teams during the regular season.
