AARP offers free tax-help services

The AARP tax-aid program will help prepare tax returns for low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older.

The program offers electronic filing at the following locations starting in February:

  • Hilton Head Island library: 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 5 to April 9. No appointment necessary.

  • SHARE Senior Center, 6 Office Way, Suite 915: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 7 to April 11. No appointment necessary.

  • Bluffton library: 1 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 6 to April 10. No appointment necessary.

  • Sun City Hilton Head: Mondays and Thursdays, Feb. 7 to April 11. Sign up at Lifestyle Services. By appointment only.

  • Daufuskie Island: Saturdays, Feb. 2 to April 13. By appointment only. Call Pat Dempsey at 843-686-6270.
