At right, Halle Tran, 4, stands next to her brother Nathan Tran, 6, as he takes a quick ride on Gerry, a 35-year-old African land tortoise Wednesday afternoon near a gas station off of Sea Island Parkway. His owner, Randy "The Turtle Man" Gallagher of Sunset Beach, N.C., was travelling with the turtle and stopped to let Gerry stretch his legs.
