A former Democratic candidate in the race for the 1st Congressional seat has announced her support for Elizabeth Colbert Busch.
Bobbie Rose, who withdrew from the race Monday citing other private and political opportunities, said in a news release that she will be a "special adviser" to Colbert Busch's campaign.
"I urge my supporters to spend their time and efforts getting her elected," Rose said. Rose ran for the seat last year, but was defeated by now-Sen. Tim Scott.
Colbert Busch, who is the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert and one of three Democrats in the race, said she welcomed Rose's "insights on issues of importance to our community."
