Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island will conduct extended life-fire training next week, which will close some area creeks and marshes to boaters.

Archers Creek, Ribbon Creek and Edding Creek will be closed to boater traffic from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday through Wednesday.

Normal live fire hours are 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Creeks are also closed during those hours, with the exception of Archers Creek, which is open on Saturdays. Details: 843-228-3170
