Published: January 28, 2013

A man has been found dead following a camper fire on All Joy Road in Bluffton this afternoon, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

Sgt. Robin McIntosh said firefighters with the Bluffton Township Fire District responded to the fire at about 12:15 p.m. A camper parked behind a home at 83 All Joy Road was found engulfed in flames.

After the fire was under control, the man’s body was found inside.

Deputy Beaufort County Coroner David Ott said the identity of the victim will not be released until next of kin are notified.

The cause of the fire and the man’s death are under investigation. McIntosh said arson investigators with the S.C. Law Enforcement Department are on their way, but declined to call the fire suspicious or say it was arson.

The body will be taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy.
