Here's today's highlights from the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette:

Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort. Reporter Gina Smith will ask Kuhn how he plans to rise in the crowded field. Check back on our website later today for that story, and follow Smith at ,a href="www.twitter.com/GinaNSmith">twitter.com/GinaNSmith.

G. Love (born Garrett Dutton and of G. Love & Special Sauce fame) talks with Lowcountry Current about turning 40, social media and what he thinks about on stage. The troup continues to tour in support of 2011’s “Fixin’ to Die,” but plays new songs from their forthcoming album and hits like “Cold Beverage” and “Baby’s Got Sauce,” too. The play at Charleston’s Music Farm tonight, and Jacksonville’s Freebird Live on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
