Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry's board of directors has named Jean Heyduck its next executive director.

Heyduck was the executive director of the Gateway Technical College Foundation in Wisconsin and has been the head of communications and marketing for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.

She moved to the area in March with her husband, Chris Protz, the director of Boys and Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry.

Heyduck will succeed current director Nancy William, who retires Feb. 1.
