Two people have been taken to the hospital after a two-car crash on William Hilton Parkway on Hilton Head Island that tied up traffic just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
A Toyota Camry and a Pontiac Bonneville were involved in the crash, which occurred at about 2:40 p.m. near the intersection of Squire Pope Road and William Hilton Parkway on the north end of the island before the exit to the Cross Island Parkway.
Both cars sustained moderate front end damage, and the Camry's air bags deployed, according to Hilton Head Island Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal Joheida Fister.
The two people in the Camry were taken to a local hospital, Fister said, though she did not specify which hospital. Both were wearing their seat belts.
The driver of the Bonneville, who also wore a seat belt, denied medical treatment and transport.
