Published: January 23, 2013

The Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry's board of directors has named Jean Heyduck as its next executive director.

Heyduck is from Wisconsin, and has worked for non-profits there, according to a news release. Most recently, she was the executive director of the Gateway Technical College Foundation. She's also been the head of communications and marketing for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Great Milwaukee, an agency with more than 35 locations and a $20-million budget.

She moved to the area in March 2012 with her husband, Chris Protz, the director of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry.

Heyduck will succeed current director Nancy William when she retires Feb. 1.
