I was reading The Beaufort Gazette before the Christmas holidays, and there was a letter that stated our president did not earn a second term. Yes, this was a personal opinion, so here is my personal opinion.

Maybe President Barack Obama did not get the opportunity to get things through our wonderful Congress, but I voted for him because I saw compassion for the people, not just blacks. He fights for all of us.

I believe getting the people to vote for you is a little more respectful than actually stealing the vote. It seems we as a nation have selective memory.

The 47 percent of us can remember when things felt really, really bad. We needed a breath of fresh air, and we got it from Obama. So we decided, well let's try that again. We, the people, voted to give our president a little more time so we could continue to breathe just a little better.

Now in my opinion, Gov. Nikki Haley has earned her way out. But that's just the way I plan to vote. Unemployment benefits come in handy when you are unable to find a job.
