Thank you to Hargray's Caring Coins Foundation from HELP Mobile Meals

Near the end of 2012, HELP Mobile Meals found itself in a financial crunch.

The program, under HELP of Beaufort, provides hot, nutritious, well-balanced meals for those who are unable to prepare or obtain such meals by normal means.

Because of a decrease in donations and an increase in applicants, we were forced to think of cutting down the number of clients we serve -- almost 70, five days a week, for a total of 17,763 meals in 2012.

Thankfully, because of the generosity of Hargray Caring Coins Foundation, we did not have to decrease our service to the Beaufort County community. This foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations by offering Hargray customers a chance to round up their telephone bills to the nearest dollar. These small monthly contributions have enabled Hargray to distribute more than $2 million to deserving nonprofit agencies to serve people who need support and help. This is such a painless way to give to our communities. We urge all Hargray customers to consider this option. For more information, call Hargray at 877-427-4729.

HELP Mobile Meals is proud to be a part of a community where generous donors such as Hargray Caring Coins, United Way, Friends of Callawassie, churches and individuals reach out to people and truly make a difference. Thank you all.
