Two Hilton Head Island teenagers are accused of burglarizing homes in December, stealing laptops, gaming systems, jewelry and wrapped Christmas presents, among other items.

Jeron Rivers, 17, and Mauricio Gonzalez-Ponce, 16, were charged with two counts of first-degree burglary, three counts of second-degree burglary and one count of attempted burglary. Rivers also faces charges of theft and breaking into a car, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center log.

Warrants against Rivers and Gonzalez-Ponce were served last week when both were already in custody on unrelated charges, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. Incident reports say the burglaries occurred on Muddy Creek Road, Bryant Road and Julia Drive.

Rivers is being held in lieu of $327,130 bond. Gonzalez-Ponce is being held in lieu of $325,000 bond.
