Another record high temperature? We've tied the old record of 80 degrees — set in 1989 — as of this writing. As you know, we've had two entries in the 2013 record books already; here's a third. And that should be it for record heat. Transition starts tomorrow with rain chances Thursday into Friday, and we'll be back to normal highs and lows heading into the weekend.

A stalled front is still sitting over northwest Georgia trailing back to the Gulf Coast, the strong southwest flow aiding record heat. It will finally get moving later tonight, slowly inching to the southeast as a much-weaker boundary. New area of low pressure will develop over the Gulf, tracking across South Georgia as a new rainmaker for Thursday.

Models keep moving the front into the Atlantic, but the pusher, an Arctic high, is getting hung up across the Great Lakes. So there's a possibility that a new low could form offshore during the weekend, which would bring in more showers. Drier, cooler weather sets up for next week.
