A Chinese restaurant in Port Royal was robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a mask late Saturday who escaped on foot, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

A Sheriff's Office K-9 unit arrived at the China Dragon on Savannah Highway after the Port Royal Police Department requested tracking assistance just before 11:30 p.m., according to an incident report.

The search was unsuccessful, the report said.

Attempts Sunday to reach the Port Royal Police Department were unsuccessful.
