Prep Roundup, Jan. 11: Beaufort High wrestlers rack up two easy wins

Beaufort High hosted and won two wrestling matches Thursday night, beating St. John's, 65-5, and Colleton County, 65-12.

In the win over St. John's, Kentrell Seabrook earned the pin at 285 for the Eagles.

Against Colleton County, Conner Gruel (138), Michael Holmes (145), Eric Blakely (182), Jake Harris (195), Clint Wright (220) and Tyler Wilson (285) earned pins. Brandon Blackmon (170) won on an injury default.

The Eagles (15-5 overall, 2-0 Region 8-AAAA) wrestle Monday at Summerville.

BOWLING

Hilton Head Prep 433, Orangeburg Prep 373, Cardinal Newman 355 (Wednesday): The Dolphins, consisting of juniors Brayden Mitchell, John Sheehan, Shaun Topper, James Leonard, and Greg Warren, won Wednesday at Gamecock Lanes in Sumter and will bowl next in the SCISA state finals, to be held Jan. 24 in the Columbia area.
