Two teams from the Lowcountry Blacktips volleyball club won their divisions last weekend at Palmetto Volleyball's Charleston Kick-off at the Charleston Convention Center.
The tournament was the first of the season for USA Volleyball's Palmetto Region, encompassing North and South Carolina.
The Blacktips' U17 girls national team won the U18 bracket. The Blacktips defeated Anderson-based Vision 181, 25-18, 20-25, 15-8, in the championship match.
The team is coached by Jessica Howard and Priscilla Kelly. Players include Jordan Franklin, Sierra Davis, MacKenzie Cooler, Brantley Herrington, Mallory Lewis, Cameron Dean, Melissa Bornstein, Haley Kohler and Hannah Edelman.
The U16 girls won their division, as well, beating the CSRA Volleyball Club of Augusta Ga., 25-15, 25-23.
The team is coached by Genia Edelman and players include Haley Matousek, Savannah Malphrus, Rowan Baltzley, Julia Baker, Jaqueline Tobin, Stevie Desimone, Lauren Kendrick, Ashley Grace Novak and Bekka Parent.
