Volunteers are needed to participate in a biannual count of the region's homeless population Jan. 26.

The count is sponsored by the Community Services Organization, and data collected locally will be used by the federal government to determine how much funding each community receives to fight homelessness.

Training sessions will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Love House Ministries in Beaufort, and at 6 p.m. Monday at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church in Bluffton.
