Beaufort City Council is expected to decide Tuesday whether to move forward with the accommodations tax grant process or defer it and combine the money with next year's allotment. The grants are typically awarded in early fall, but because of delays caused by an attempt to reinvent the process, applications have not yet gone out. Meanwhile, several nonprofit groups who receive the money to help promote festivals and tourist attractions are wondering when they will get funded.
