A new virtual engineering program is coming to the Beaufort County School District. Accelerate is designed to help high school students jump-start engineering degrees and careers. The program is done in partnership with the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. Beaufort County is one of eight school districts statewide to participate in the initial year of the program. Four to six students from each district will be selected, and the number of schools and students participating will increase annually.
