'Hit the Links for Lymphedema' golf tourney a success

info@islandpacket.comJanuary 7, 2013

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make the first "Hit the Links for Lymphedema" golf tournament on Dec. 8 a success.

Our goal was to raise money for lymphatic research and to bring awareness to our community about lymphedema and lymphatic disease. Through the generosity of our sponsors, we were able to achieve both.

Thank you to Mark O'Neil and Kelly Presnell at Hilton Head Hospital, Lance Buntin and Chris Hudak at The Golf Club at Indigo Run and Kevin Green of Carolina Sportscare and Physical Therapy. Each of them provided generous support needed for us to move forward with this endeavor.

We also are thankful for the support from The Golden Bear Golf Club, FACES Day Spa, Palmetto Electric, Hilton Head Dermatology and Coastal Imaging. These businesses provided prizes, raffle items and goodie bag items that helped to make the tournament a memorable one for all who participated.

A big thank you to all the golfers who played in the tournament. We hope you enjoyed the day, the food, the golf and knowing that you helped raise money for a great cause.

Thank you to the volunteers that helped before, during and after the tournament. It was an honor to work with all of you and your efforts are appreciated.
