The second suspect in a Dec. 17 shooting that left a man wounded in the Beaufort Walmart parking lot surrendered to Beaufort police late Friday.

Dion Ramell Hagood, 24, of Burton, remained in the Beaufort County Detention Center Saturday awaiting a bond hearing on an attempted murder charge.

The other suspect in the shooting -- Pierre Lamont Bryant, 52, of Burton -- was arrested Dec. 28 and is charged with being an accessory to attempted murder and third-degree assault and battery. Bryant remained in the jail as of Saturday with bail set at $26,092, cash-only.

The men were allegedly arguing with a 24-year-old Beaufort man in the parking lot just before midnight when Hagood fired three or four shots, striking the victim once in the arm, police said.

The victim drove home and had a friend drive him to the hospital, where medical personnel called authorities, police said.

Hagood faces two other counts of attempted murder, among other charges, in General Sessions Court in connection with a February 2011 incident in which he allegedly shot at his child, the child's mother and another woman as they stood in the yard of a Ramsey Loop home.
