An automobile accident on U.S. 278 has slowed traffic near the artery's intersection with Simmonsville Road, in greater Bluffton, according to the Bluffton Township Fire District.
The accident happened in the center lane of the west-bound side of the road, according to the fire district. No patients were transported to the hospital. Beaufort County EMS responded to the accident.
