Jasper County sheriff's deputies called to Club Karma after a woman broke a glass door Sunday found a shooting had left a man injured earlier in the day.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office was called at 2 a.m. to the club on Speedway Boulevard outside of Hardeeville after a woman shattered a glass door after she wasn't allowed to enter, according to a news release.

Once there, deputies were asked by patrons in the parking lot if they were there to investigate a shooting, the release said. A 19-year-old man had been shot multiple times and had been taken to the Savannah hospital. The crime had not been reported until then, the release said.

Deputies found multiple shell casings in the parking lot and shut down the nightclub to investigate. The injured man had been taken to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment, the release said.

The Sheriff's Office is withholding the victim's name "for safety reasons," the release said. His condition was not released. A suspect has not been identified.
