The Hilton Head Island library will offer a computer basics class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 8 and running through Jan. 29.

The course covers basic operations such as how to access the Internet and perform basic searches. It also will cover how to get connected to the Internet and what accessories should be purchased with a new computer. The course is intended for participants who have little or no knowledge of computers.

The library is at 11 Beach City Road. The course is free but registration is required.
