Hilton Head officials to discuss traffic lights, safety at 278 intersection

Published: January 2, 2013

The Town of Hilton Head Island is addressing its next most dangerous intersection on William Hilton Parkway, as the Planning Commission recommended approval of traffic lights and other safety measures at Queens Way near Leamington, Fresh Market and Hargray. The 1,000-foot stretch of road at the intersection has been the site of 27 crashes since July 2008 — a level at which the state recommends traffic signals.
