Deep Well charity helps people in need

Published: December 31, 2012

Phyllis had to quit work after getting the devastating news that her 5-year-old daughter had cancer.

She had to care for her child but had no money to pay for trips to and from Charleston, where her daughter was being treated at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The Deep Well Project provided gas cards so the mother and daughter could make the trips, and will continue doing so as long as the child needs treatment.

Deep Well provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
