Sarah Welliver was hired as a staff photographer in 2008. She graduated from the University of Montana in 2007 with a BA in journalism. Before moving to the Lowcountry she worked as a photography intern at the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Argus Leader, the Detroit Free Press and the Santa Fe New Mexican. Prior to college she served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
