Rental Places, an Internet-marketing and software-development firm whose parent company is based on Hilton Head Island, has developed 25 Facebook pages that allow vacationers to get information about vacation rental destinations around the country.
Facebook users receive daily postings about local events, dining and other activities at destinations such as Lake Tahoe, Orlando and Myrtle Beach.
"When choosing a vacation destination, some travelers find it beneficial to have access to the social media community in order to ask questions about dining, events, or other activities," said Richard Neste, chief operating officer of Performance Development Corp., Rental Place's parent company.
