Deputies found marijuana growing in pots inside Hilton Head Plantation after a homeowner there discovered the plants and called authorities on Christmas Eve, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

A deputy seized the plants found near Sweetwater Lane, the incident report said.

Sgt. Robin McIntosh said the plants did not appear to be part of a "sophisticated" growing operation.
