Roommate steals light bulbs following dispute over bills

info@islandpacket.comDecember 24, 2012

A St. Helena Island man stole light bulbs from the home he shares with his cousin in retribution for late payments on electric bills, according to Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The seven missing bulbs were worth only $20, but the suspect's roommate reported it to authorities because the bulbs were taken from both common areas and victim's locked bedroom, according to an incident report.

The victim told deputies his cousin is upset because he has not been paying all the bills on time and the two have been having problems for weeks.
