PHOTO: FOX News report to include segment on veteran aided by Beaufort event

Published: December 24, 2012

Pictured is John Peck, center, and Adam Key, right, in their new Action Trackchairs at the Walter Reed Christmas Party held on December 9. The two veterans, both amputees, will now be more mobile because of the all-terrain capabilities of the Trackchair. The cost of the chairs was possible because of the American flag painting that was auctioned to Kyle Johnson, the highest bidder, during the Lt. Dan Weekend concert in Beaufort.

The FOX News Channel's "Special Report with Bret Baier" at 6:20 p.m. tonight will include a segment about quadruple-amputee Sgt. John Peck and will mention Beaufort and the Independence Fund. Peck was one of three veterans who received specially designed Track Chair wheelchairs paid for with proceeds from the Lt. Dan Weekend, which benefits the Independence Fund to aid injured veterans and their families. Peck lost his limbs in an bomb blast in Afghanistan, and his mother, Lisa, attended Lt. Dan Weekend 3 this year in Beaufort.
