Boehner presses Obama for better deal on fiscal cliff

WASHINGTON —John Boehner, speaker of the House of Representatives, called on President Barak Obama to act to avert fiscal cliff Friday.

Boehner made his comments at a press conference this morning, following the failure of the his "Plan B" to be brought to a vote in the House last night. U.S. market tumbled this morning on that news.

Ten days remain for Congress and the White House to reach a compromise on raising taxes and cutting the deficit if the fiscal cliff is to be avoided.
