U.S. Rep. Tim Scott, a Republican whose district includes Beaufort County, will open an office in the Beaufort County Government Center in Bluffton starting in January.
The congressman also announced his staff will be holding weekly mobile office hours in Beaufort and on Hilton Head Island. The location of these offices will be announced later this month.
Scott, who was re-elected to a second term last month, has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint. DeMint will leave the Senate early next year to lead the Heritage Foundation.
Scott's office will be in Room 317 in the government center at 4819 Bluffton Parkway.
