S.C. 170 crash sends one to hospital

A two-car crash on S.C. 170 at the U.S. 278 interchange blocked all westbound lanes at about 6 p.m. Thursday.

A person was freed from the wreckage and taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to Capt. Randy Hunter of the Bluffton Township Fire District. The extent of the injuries are unknown.

The wreckage was cleared, and traffic resumed within an hour.
