Local Golf Notebook, Dec. 13: RBC Heritage offering 2 tickets in contest

Want to go to the RBC Heritage in April but you don't want to pony up for the tickets? Here's your chance to go.

The winner of the RBC Heritage Memories contest will receive two RBC Heritage Daily Tickets for the PGA Tour event to be held April 15-21, 2013 at Harbour Town Golf Links.

RBC Heritage Memories marks the first of several events to celebrate the 45th Annual RBC Heritage presented by Boeing.

IJGA'S DIETRICH WINS IJGT EVENT AT SEA PINES

Bluffton's Ben Dietrich, a Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy student and South Carolina signee, shot back-to-back 70s last weekend to win the Boys 15-19 Division in the International Junior Golf Tour's fifth annual Hank Haney Invitational at Sea Pines Resort.

Phimnipha Wongwaiwate, also an IJGA student, shot 72-69 to wins the Girls Under 19 Division by three strokes, andd in the Boys Under 14 Division, William Thomson posted rounds of 70-79 to win by two strokes in the two-day, 36-hole eevent.

FERGUSON WINS HJGT EVENT, HONORS

Ewen Ferguson of the Junior Playyers Golf Academy shot 4 under last weekend on the International Course to win the Boys 15-18 Divsion of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Championship at ChampionsGate Golf Resort in Florida.

It was Ferguson's second straight win, and he locked up player of the year and All-HJGT honors.

SHARING THE SPOILS

The Hilton Head Island Celebrity Golf Foundation will host an event at 6 p.m. Dec. 18 at The Oceans at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa to recognize the 20 children's charities of the Lowcountry that will benefit from the $100,000 raised by the 2012 Hilton Head Island Celebrity Golf Tournament.

  • Bob Trapp hit a hole-in-one Dec. 4 on the third hole at Okatie Creek Golf Club. He used a 7-iron. Witnesses were Rich Owen and Jim Matta.

  • Craig Boehlke hit a hole-in-one Dec. 2 on the eighth hole at Okatie Creek Golf Club. He used an 8-iron. Witnesses were John Plant and Stan Zydeck.

  • Janet Sutcliffe hit a hole-in-one Dec. 6 on the 12th hole at Argent Lakes Golf Club. She used a 4-hybrid. Witnesses were Betty Duckworth, Cynthia Masalin, and Bonnie Dreyer.

  • Joe Vrcan hit a hole-in-one Dec. 9 on the seventh hole at Hidden Cypress Golf Club. He used a 6-iron. Witnesses were Dave McColloch, Dave Shimp, and Jim Engler.

  • Linda Larkin had a hole-in-one Dec. 8 on the third hole at at Oldfield. She used a pitching wedge. A witness was Charlotte Wright.

  • Steve Ratzell had a hole-in-one Saturday at the 15th hole at Eagle's Pointe. He used a 6-iron. Witnesses were Karl Deal, Roger Goetz and Bill Thomas.
