A school bus carrying Whale Branch High School junior varsity athletes and a car were involved in a minor crash at the intersection of Bluffton Parkway and Buckwalter Parkway at about 6:30 p.m., Tuesday. There were no serious injuries, according to the Bluffton Township Fire District.
The bus was taking 33 students on the Whale Branch boys and girls junior varsity basketball teams home from Bluffton High School. One student on the bus was taken by ambulance to Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville for minor back pain, according to Gregory McCord, Beaufort County School District student services chief.
