Republicans must move to fashion fiscal deal

info@islandpacket.comDecember 12, 2012

So Sen. Jim DeMint says Speaker John Boehner's proposal "will destroy American jobs." Bully for him.

And his proposal? He doesn't have one. He is just another preening ineptocrat. Meanwhile, the employment situation worsens because without clarity companies won't make plans. President Barack Obama has drawn a line in the sand and asking him to redraw is silly. If he did, he would be a lame duck until 2016. The Republicans need to start negotiating in earnest and plan on compromising or risk turning the U.S. into a one-party system.
