Caring Coins donates $75K to area charities

Hargray Communications' Caring Coins Foundation announced Tuesday it has donated $75,000 to local charities.

The grants are funded by customers who opt to round up their bills and donate the spare change to the foundation.

Grant recipients: Beaufort Women's Center, $1,000; Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry, Bluffton, $4,000; Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry, Jasper County, $8,000; Child Abuse Prevention Center of Beaufort, $4,000; Children's Center, Hilton Head Island, $8,000; Children's Center, Bluffton, $5,000; Friends of Carolina Hospice, $5,000; Habitat for Humanity, Hilton Head Island, $5,000; HELP of Beaufort, $6,000; Heroes on Horseback, $3,000; Hilton Head Heroes, $6,000; Hope Haven of the Lowcountry, $5,000; Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, $8,000; Main Street Youth Theatre, $3,000; The Sandbox: An Interactive Children's Museum, $4,000.
