'Christmas Story' to be shown at Palmetto Bluff

Palmetto Bluff will show the movie "A Christmas Story" on the big screen Friday on its village green to benefit Family Promise of Beaufort County, which provides housing and shelter for homeless families.

Admission is $20 for a full car. Attendees should bring beach chairs and blankets, but no coolers. Complimentary hot chocolate and movie snacks will be available. "Hot toddies" can be purchased.

Tickets can be purchased on arrival at the community's gate. Moviegoers can begin arriving at 5 p.m. The movie starts at 6 p.m.

The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette are co-sponsoring the event.

Palmetto Bluff is five miles west of Old Town Bluffton on S.C. 46.
