A 22-year-old man was treated for several gunshot wounds after a fight Sunday in Burton, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Clarence Daniel, 27, said he was outside his home on Sonya Faye Lane shortly before 4 p.m. when a man walked up from a nearby field. The man, later identified as Glen Majors Jr. of Burton, entered the yard and charged at Daniel, according to the release. They began to fight, and Majors pulled out a handgun.

Daniel attempted to disarm Majors, and the gun went off. Majors fled, and deputies were notified that he showed up at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for several non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and released.

Daniel had blood and scratches on his neck and left side, according to an incident report. He said he did not know Majors.

No charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon, and the investigation is continuing, according to the release.
