The annual Christmas tree fundraiser for the Hilton Head Island High School football team has started.

The trees, fresh cut from Avery County, N.C., are for sale on a lot near the Island Recreation Center on Wilborn Road.

Wreaths, garland and fresh honey also are available.

The fundraiser is in its 17th year. This year, organizers hope to top $50,000 in total money raised since the fundraiser began.
