Prep Roundup, Dec. 8: Beaufort High boys defeat Battery Creek by 20

Beaufort High 65, Battery Creek 45: Kendrick Colvin had 15 points, Jawan Mack and Otis McClain each scored 13 and the Eagles remained unbeaten with the home win.

Beaufort High led 29-17 at halftime.

Sophomore forward Davontae Wilson paced Battery Creek with 13 points. Yuneek Crittendon scored 10.

Beaufort High (3-0) travels to Ridgeland-Hardeeville tonight.

Hilton Head Prep 47, St. Andrew's 30: John Eck scored 19 points and Randy Young had a double-double to help Prep's boys remain undefeated.

Young finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Sam McCracken had eight boards and Charlie Wilmot led the Dolphins (5-0) with five assists.

Prep led 24-18 at halftime before pulling away from St. Andrew's (4-4), which was led by Hunter Ziegler's 15 points.

Hilton Head Prep hosts Wilson Hall at 2:30 p.m. today.

Wilson Hall 54, Hilton Head Christian Academy 47: Brad Meccariello scored 13 points, and Ryan Frey added nine in the loss for the Eagles.

Sharp Turner had 16 and Kyle Duffy scored 15 for Wilson Hall.

Hilton Head Christian (3-3) hosts Bible Baptist at 3 p.m. today.

Beaufort Academy 60, Patrick Henry 39: Finn Koppernaes had a career-high 19 points to go with 13 rebounds, and the Eagles beat Patrick Henry to even their record at 3-3.

Conner Akers added 16 points and eight assists for Beaufort Academy, and Preston Suber contributed 11 points, all in the first half.

The Eagles pulled away after trailing 16-14 after the first quarter. A 17-3 run helped Beaufort Academy grab a 31-19 halftime advantage.

The Eagles next play Tuesday at Charleston Collegiate.

JV: Beaufort Academy 55, Patrick Henry 29

Thomas Heyward 61, Dorchester Academy 54: Dylan Tillotson led the Rebels with 19 points, and Zach Newton contributed 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals in the win.


Battery Creek 66, Beaufort High 22: Daisja Cannon outscored Beaufort High by herself, pouring in 23 points as the Battery Creek girls routed the Eagles.

Alisha Varela added 12 points and Alex Bazemore scored 11 for the Dolphins (2-1). Erika Alston chipped in with eight points and Khadijah Badger had six.

Mattie Hibbs had eight points to lead Beaufort High (0-3). Jasmine Wallace added seven and Jordan Fields finished with four for the Eagles, who play at Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 6:30 tonight.

Battery Creek hosts Garrett Tech on Tuesday.

Thomas Heyward Academy 43, Dorchester Academy 26: Jamie Malphrus had 18 points and 12 rebounds to help keep the Rebels undefeated.

Brielle Jungblut added 13 points and four steals, and Chandler Cook had seven rebounds for Thomas Heyward (8-0), which hosts Patrick Henry on Tuesday.

JV: Thomas Heyward Academy 40, Dorchester Academy 30

Beaufort Academy 40, Patrick Henry 30: Miranda Weslake tallied 23 points, and Charlotte Delfosse and Kiana Fortner each scored seven to help the Eagles get the victory.

Beaufort Academy (2-4) took a 26-11 at halftime and cruised from there, never allowing Patrick Henry to get any closer than 10 points.

Joye Peeples led Patrick Henry with 11 points.

Beaufort Academy hosts Ruapehu College (New Zealand) at 4 p.m. today.

Wilson Hall 50, Hilton Head Christian Academy 44: The Eagles stumbled despite 18 points from Macee Tamminen.

Andy Anderson chipped in 12 points for Hilton Head Christian, and Francesca Guidobono netted seven.

Now 4-4, the Eagles host Bible Baptist today.
