Sarla Performance Fibers, a producer of yarn and threads, will locate its new operations in Colleton County, bringing a $13.8 million investment and creating 100 jobs, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.
Based in Mumbai, India, Sarla will establish a yarn and thread manufacturing plant, under the name Sarlaflex, at the industrial park in Walterboro. It will serve customers in the apparel and upholstery markets and is expected to begin operations in May, the release said.
