Nov. 8 was Palmetto Animal League day at Markel's. Mark Postlethwaite and Mike Veina, owners of the gift shop in Bluffton's Kittie's Crossing, were very generous in giving a percentage of the proceeds for the entire day to PAL.
Refreshments were served in the evening, and the store was lively with shoppers and supporters. A heartfelt thanks to Markel's for its support and recognition that we all have a responsibility to care for Lowcountry animals in need.
