Whale Branch ranked in basketball polls

Boys 4th, girls 8th in SCBCA's first regular-season poll of season

The Whale Branch Early College High School basketball teams are ranked in the S.C. Basketball Coaches Association's first regular-season polls of the season.

The Warriors (2-0) are fourth in the boys Class 1-A poll after beginning the season unranked. They have beaten 2-A Battery Creek, 62-48, and 3-A Hilton Head Island, 56-53.

In the girls 1-A poll, the Warriors (2-0) remain eighth, the same position they held in the preseason poll. They have wins over Battery Creek (65-63) and Hilton Head Island (58-55), as well.

Whale Branch travels to Hilton Head Island Tuesday night.
